World AIDS Day Street Appeal

"World AIDS Day 2015 is fast approaching and preparations for the annual street collection are well underway. A big thank you to our faithful volunteers who were involved in last year's street collection – we really appreciate your support and would like to call on you again for your help this year!

This year — leading up to and beyond World AIDS Day on 1 December — we're continuing our work towards zero discrimination against people living with HIV.

We will be hitting the streets around Wellington and the Hutt Valley on Friday 27th November between 7am and 8pm – shaking our buckets and raising awareness of the 'Getting to Zero' global campaign to the people of New Zealand.

Our campaign focuses on three key aspirational messages: Zero new HIV infections, Zero AIDS related deaths and Zero discrimination. These three messages align with the UNAIDS global strategy and reflect the issues that are at the forefront of the HIV epidemic!"

World AIDS Day 2015 is a joint initiative between the New Zealand AIDS Foundation,
Body Positive Inc., Positive Women Inc. and INA.

"We need you! It's going to be a long but fun day so any time you can spare would be AMAZING. Should you be able to assist we'd be extremely grateful – the more people we have rattling buckets the more money we can raise. Drinks and snacks will be available throughout the day at our Āwhina Centre office.

Our target areas for this year's street collection are the Railway Station, Wellington CBD, Newtown and the Hutt Valley. From 6pm to 8pm, we have the pub run when teams of volunteers will canvas the Wellington inner city hotels.

Once you have an idea at what time and where you would like to collect, please let me know so that a start can be made on the Collection Day roster. I will get back to you closer to collection day with further information.

Can't get time off work? Many company's offer paid leave to staff who want to collect for charity – ask your Manager if this is something your company offers!

Please join us this World AIDS Day 2015!!

On behalf of everyone at NZAF, thank you."
