Wellington Pride Festival | Tū whakahīhī e Te Whanganui-ā-Tara

We're expanding! The Out in the Park committee will coordinate a weeklong festival of events in 2016. The Festival will showcase the incredible talent, hard work and creativity of Wellington's queer community. The events will take place at a variety of venues in and around Wellington City from 5 March to 13 March 2016, and will have something for everyone!

Wellington Pride Festival | Tū whakahīhī e Te Whanganui-ā-Tara will be our chance to increase our visibility, and stand proud as a vibrant community! The Festival will feature a spectrum of events, from dance parties to art exhibits, movies, theatre productions, panel discussions, sports days, workshops, family events etc, at venues in and around Wellington City.

We are also delighted to have Proud - Wellington's first ever ILGA Oceania Human Rights and Health Conference as part of Wellington Pride Festival | Tū whakahīhī e Te Whanganui-ā-Tara. The conference wants to re-ignite the fires of the LGBTI community on issues of Human Rights and Health in the Pacific.

The Out in the Park committee will be collaborating with members of the community to put on a festival that reflects all of our diversity, representing all sexual, gender, ethnic and cultural identities.  This festival is a time to come together to celebrate how far we have come, but also to reflect on where we are heading and what more we need to do to overcome the struggles that many members of our community continue to face.

Let's put on a festival to remember in 2016, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Homosexual Law Reform and Out in the Park!
